A short video of a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers feeding young at a nest hole in the Warblington cemetery, Havant, Hampshire. From a couple of hours of observations, the male bird was very quick at feeding the young, hanging around for barely a few seconds. He very occasionally entered the nest hole to take away any Fecal Sacs. His main task (captured on this video on two occasions) was to remove saw dust from within the nest. He would emerge with a beak full of saw dust, perch just outside the nest hole and literally toss it away over his shoulder. The female bird, lingered longer at the nest hole feeding the young inside and every other visit she would pop inside and remove any Fecal Sacs. All fascinating to watch and video. Enjoy at https://youtu.be/fPT4zz3kj2o.
