Seen at a distance briefly, initially perched on a buoy, then flying. Pretty certain they were common as looked too small for sandwich and nothing that made me think arctic. SU569954.

Very surprised to ID a kittiwake inland but I watched it for ages, double checked identifying features, and I'm certain. It sat on the lake on its own for at least half an hour, keeping clear of the sailing dinghies, flew a short distance once so I saw its black legs and definitely no white on wing tips. It left before 11am. SU569954.

Feeding in larch with redpoll. At least 6, possibly more, very noisy and active. SU640819.

Feeding in larch with siskins. Most of the redpoll looked chunky and pale, though some smaller, so I want to say common or mealy though I know it's difficult to firmly ID without measurements (according to my bird ringer dad who didn't see them). Maybe some lesser, some common/mealy? SU640819.
