Checked in books with other photos of it at different angles and because no black on back or edges of tail not a juvenile.Stress that these birds stayed hidden from view even feeding on reed seed tops, most of time.The photos came from when they were moving through feeding,we knew they'd run out of reeds on edge of channel,at front edge like in images for maybe 10 seconds then hiding again !
