See dunlin for discussion of waders at this site in Oct to Nov 25th. Numbers ranged from a consistent 3-500 until a fairly rapid rise to, probably, 3000 in mid nov. Species hard to cound as often splits and roosts at a distance with hidden serried ranks. 1.5k fiarly regular in Nov 2800 clicked 17th Nov my most 'accuraye' count. .

On its own feeding on the Port Meadow river bank just upstream from the Perch landing stage. I was able to walk very close to the bird and saw that it was carrying its left leg as it hopped whist feeding.
