08:50 | Bright yellow passerines landed on bare branches less than 10m away from me as I was near the start of Aristotle bridge, ~8.50am. Noticeably larger than a blue tit on the same tree. I unfortunately saw them only without binoculars (still in my knapsack), but what immediately impressed me was the bright yellow of both birds around the head and breast area. Slightly streaky breast and some brown along the upper parts. I did not notice any dark black markings along the wings or head (hence, not siskin). No grey parts that I would expect to see in greenfinch. Departed after about 5-10 seconds, heading east. . | |||
