This was a minimum number of a flock which was observed by myself and Andy Butler flying around the sunflower belt and surrounding area,a wonderful sight. Other observers have counted 60 plus but our estimation would be nearer 100 birds. The Linnet flock of probably at least 60 birds seemed to keep apart. There were a handful chaffinches and a Reed bunting. We were too late in the day to sort out any thing else after bad weather but all birders should take a visit to see this unique number of Bramblings on the Island.
