Fabulous male initially in Bucks, then in Nhants. It flew low west across the riverside fields. Was briefly mobbed by a crow, then lost to view behind trees near the Grand Union Canal. Was subsequently seen c500yds into Northants, quartering a field next to the canal, before going to ground in a hedge. Edit: bird was a juvenile male, probably 3CY. Extensive rufous brown colouring on mantle, and noticeable brown edges to upper secondaries.

Probablemale. Reported to me by Lynn Patton of Buckingham who saw it "quartering fields around Adstock". She has not seen HH before but notes "a definite contrast between silvery grey of the body and black primaries...Carrion crows didn't like it and it was their noise that attracted my attention".
