All heading west between 7.45 -8.00. From 8.30 onwards mainly House Martins but also reasonable numbers of Sand Martins and Swallows headed east. Not counted but movement was in the 1000s. [WHD].

A conservative estimate East at Blackgang/Gore Cliff 6.35 - 10.30. Continual movement across the fields and along the cliff edge with with Swallows. Large flocks of House Martins sometimes lingering to feed just off the cliff. Sample counts of mixed hirundines: @ 07.30 - 770 in 10 minutes and @ 9.40 - 225 in 10 minutes. Approx 70% Swallows.

250+ invaded the house at 10am. They are still around at 11:53. Landing all over the roof, walls and in the top of a large conifer. One of the most extraordinary sights I've seen. Having seen the photos we took,this number can be revised to around 500. SZ394896.

Having not seen one all summer, suddenly a flock appeared all round the house. Min 30 up to maybe max 50. They stayed about 15 minutes landing on the walls and on top of opening windows. A wonderful sight. SZ394896.
