First proper screaming party of more than 5 birds I've seen here all year. They were present in the area for over an hour. Not a bad count either. Plenty of Goldfinch, Greenfinch, and GS Woodpecker activity in the area over the past few days too. SU276419.

Pair flew over, followed by group of 5 from above, appearing to be a separate group. No chance to take in details whilst driving by, hence the low assessment re breeding, but given time of year fledglings are possible. SU232463.

male. Male flew across B3084 into hedgerow on NE side of road. Thought it was an odd location, as this is an area of chalk farmland, with the nearest water and suitable vegetation a long Reed Bunting's flight from there. SU249421.
